Business Valuation

Valuations lie at the heart of most major corporate transactions – from mergers and acquisitions and stock repurchases to financial reporting and litigation. As the complexity of these transactions continues to increase, the need for objective, comprehensive valuations has never been greater.

Our professionals have substantial experience in the valuation of closely-held businesses and business interests including common and preferred stock, options, and partnership interests for a wide variety of situations including:

  • S-Corporation valuations
  • Family limited partnerships
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Estate and gift taxation
  • Fairness and solvency opinions
  • Succession planning
  • Litigation and dispute resolution
  • Bankruptcy and reorganizations
  • Employee stock ownership plans (ESOP’s)
  • Intangible asset impairment
  • Purchase price allocation

Our professionals have been performing valuations for more than 20 years, and have earned designations from several different organizations, including Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), administered by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Most recently, the NACVA has earned National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation for its CVA and AVA designations. NACVA’s CVA and AVA designations are the only NCCA accredited valuation credentials in the business valuation industry.

“As a divorce litigator, I have worked with Larry for over 10 years. He does great work. He really is an expert on business valuations. He is a good witness. He can clearly explain his approach to a client and/or the judge.”
